We had a special assembly this morning to say goodbye to Mrs Robert's and Mrs Holloway who have new jobs. We also said goodbye to Miss Catt who left to start her maternity leave. We will miss you all. In the assembly, we also said congratulations to Mr McMurdo who had successfully completed his two year statutory induction period and congratulations to Mrs Lane for passing her QTS assessment and is now officially a teacher.
Dolphins Class enjoying their last Maths lesson - estimating and converting capacity!
We held our leavers service to say goodbye to our year 6. We listened to favourite memories and shared prayers for the future. Megan and Chris came to lead our service and gave all of our y6 a bible. One of our favourite parts of the service was watching the slide show of our year 6 when they were in reception and seeing how they have all grown up!
We were delighted to discover that the King would be driving past our school on the way into his visit yesterday. We all came out to wave and we were delighted when both the King and the Queen wound their windows down and waved too. A proud day for all of us.
It was an honour to be a part of such a special day for Blandford. The children from all schools were amazing in such heat. The King and Queen were so lovely to the children.
The children in Sea Turtles class enjoyed a summer tea party with a cream tea and ice pops. We talked about the historical significance of today's Royal Visit to Blandford Forum, the first in nearly 400 years by a reigning monarch.
What a day! The day the King visited Blandford. There are more photos to come, but this is His Royal Highness arriving!
Year 5 had a magical day at the Larmer Tree Summer Pageant.
Little troopers have been enjoying reading their new books that were kindly bought for them by Ssafa Dorset. We hope that these resources will help build resilience, improve emotional wellbeing and remind service children that they are not alone in the challenges they face. The books will be available through our Little Troopers Club allowing both children and their families to borrow them as needed.
Year 6 worked with Megan this afternoon to support their thoughts and feelings around transition to Secondary School.
Mrs Wheatley, the head of year 7, came to speak to our year 6 pupils prior to transfer day next week.
In celebration of armed forces day, the year 3 children showed their respect by Saluting the armed forces. #SaluteOurForces
