Observational drawing - pencil
Choose a real plant or flower, or use one of the images below.
Look at it in detail. You are going to make an observational drawing - you must draw everything that you can see – the more you look at the object, the more detailed the drawing will be. Remember: the drawing must nearly fill the page because the detail will be easier to see if you do this.
Think about how hard or lightly you press the pencil: how many different lines and tones can you create?
